Food Hygiene Rating Scheme: Request for a re-visit
Notes for businesses:
As the food business operator of the establishment, if you make the improvements to hygiene standards that are highlighted in your inspection report, you can request a re-visit with a view to giving you a new and higher food hygiene rating
There is a charge to cover the cost of carrying out the re-visit for re-rating purposes. The Charge is £210.00 for each re-visit carried out at your request.
There is no limit to the number of re-visits you may request. However to avoid paying for multiple revisits you should address all issues before you submit a request. The re-visit will be carried out within three months of receipt of your application and payment.
You must provide details of the improvements made with your request, including supporting evidence where appropriate.
The local authority officer will give you a 'new' food hygiene rating based on the level of compliance that is found at the time of the re-visit. During the visit the officer will be looking at standards generally, not just at the specific areas you have been working to improve, so your hygiene rating could go up, down or remain the same.
Please ensure you quote the Inspection Ref number found on your inspection report letter. This can be found directly below the address and starts with a V….
